Let the good times roll again – A Global Shop perspective
2012 was exciting and full of activity for DSA, and based on the feedback we heard, for most people exhibiting this year. People on the show floor were generally excited about the prospects for 2012. The floor was abuzz with people looking to find innovative products and services, and frequent conversations were about increased budgets for the year. It appears that the market has finally turned the corner – well, let’s just say that I am cautiously optimistic on the subject.
At the DSA booth, we were quite busy throughout the show. There were great responses to our new turnkey digital signage solutions and LED frameless, fabric LED light boxes. In addition, one of the DDI
sponsored drawings for a free iPod was held in the DSA booth, and Jane Shea of Barnes and Noble, one of our customers, won the IPod!

We also participated in a number of events during the show. I moderated an interesting panel presentation entitled “Brazil goes Retail,” which included two panelists from the Design Firm FRCH and the Operations Manager for Giraffa, a Brazil fast food chain discussing the retail market in Brazil. I also presented the “Over the top supplier award” at the Design Awards.

Official numbers have attendance being up 15%, and it certainly felt like it was at least that high. We’re looking forward to next year’s show in Chicago - with hopefully even higher attendance- as we’re doubling our booth size!
