Human Resources – Senior Manager

Job Description

Job Overview
The Human Resources Senior Manager reports to the Director of Finance and is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The goal is to manage human capital and drive success through our employees.
  • Develops and administers HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.  
  • Process bi-monthly payroll using TimeClock Manager & Paychex payroll system for 60 employees.
  • Provide open bilingual communication (English and Spanish) to all employees.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Plan and manage all company and employee events / activities.
  • Implements and annually update compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing; writes and places advertisements.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Manager all employee relations ensuring legal compliance.
  • Oversee and manage company insurance programs
  • Develop and manage safety program to ensure company is compliant OSHA
  • Manage administrative staff.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

  • 5-7 years proven work experience as HR manager in a Manufacturing or Production Company
  • People Oriented and Results Driven
  • Self-starter and highly organized
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll Systems, Paychex preferred
  • Knowledge of Timekeeping Systems, TimeClock Manager is a plus
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiating and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manager interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • BS degree in Human Resources or related field
